Located in nearby Coconut Creek – a little drive from Coral Springs – there is the Fern Forest Nature Center. This beauty is a pure 247.1-acre Designated Urban Wilderness Area. Also, there are over 200 kinds of plants and has attracted the interest of scientists from local special learning centers. Be greeted as you drive on the Entrance Boardwalk, which includes a two-to-three minute’s scenic stroll from the parking lot. Stop at the informational booth here. The Exhibit Hall is a must go area as it holds interpretive displays of the park’s ancient and natural history and also exhibits of domestic reptiles.
