Loved the visit here – our guide was a delight – so knowledgeable and friendly – Unfortunately, I cannot remember his name, but he was a retired orthopedic surgeon – his knowledge and energy were inspiring – please pass on our thanks and we missed him when leaving !!
Joseph D from Boston, Massachusett says:
You can buy just garden tickets or just attraction tickets or a combination ticket. We were short on time so we only bought garden tickets. We walked around gardens and were able to see the ocean in certain places. This is a good place to escape to when you want to find a quiet location right near the beach.
Steve S from United Kingdom says:
Pleasant morning spent wandering the gardens. We joined a guided tour which was very entertaining and informative. The gardens are as the title suggests are a little oasis surrounded by high raise buildings but it was very peaceful. It would have been nice to enjoy a drink on site however there were no catering facilities onsite.
GRC from Boston, MA says:
Bonnet House is so interesting, there is a lot of history in the house and grounds. We enjoyed our tour (wouldn’t want to do it on a really hot day) and learned a lot about the home and the artists that lived there.
Bryan D from Portland, Maine says:
We visited this plantation style house built by one of the first Chicago families to purchase and develop land along the beach. Take the guided tour. Our guide had actually grown up in the area and knew the original family as a kid, so in addition to being very knowledgeable he also has some personal insights.

Built 1901 this is the oldest surviving house in Fort Lauderdale and is furnished with many original items. This was the first place I visited years ago before moving down here. This is the oldest house still standing in Ft. Lauderdale. It is a nice guided tour for a reasonable a cost (discount to children and seniors). The volunteers who work diligently to keep this place open really love this old (haunted) house. Don’t miss this tour.
